Managing Partner – Dr. Leon HoSang, LLB, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Dr. HoSang obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London and was called to the Bar in England in 1969 as a member of Lincolns Inn. Later he acquired a Master of Sciences degree in Administrative Sciences from the City University of London. “Wage Policy, Life and Labour Under The IMF Jamaica – 1974 -1996” was the subject of the thesis for his Doctoral degree.

In addition to the practice of law Dr. HoSang has also lectured at the University of the West Indies in the Department of Management Studies in the areas of Organisational Theory and Behaviour as well as Industrial Relations. Later he lectured at the University of the West Indies School of Continuing Studies in Montego Bay and the Jamaica Institute of Management in Ocho Rios in the areas of Labour Law, Law of Contract and Business Law.
Dr. HoSang has been a consultant in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations and Labour Law since 1970. He has been a Resource Person for the Joint Trade Union Research and Development Centre. In addition he made submissions to the Joint Select Parliamentary Committee on Amendment of the Labour Relations and Industrial Disputes Act.
Dr. HoSang has written several articles which have been published in the Gleaner, Financial Gleaner, and the Caribbean Labour Journal. The topics covered include, Labour Law, Collective Bargaining, Productivity Bargaining, including The Right to Strike, Incentive Payment Systems and has published “Dismissal, Reinstatement and Redundancy, the Jamaica Flour Mills Case” and “The Jamaican Bail Act, 2000: A Critique” in the West Indian Law Journal. His latest project is a book “Money and Politics: Towards a Legal Framework – Jamaica, which has been submitted to the publishers.
He has been the owner and director of several businesses and has also sat on the Board of the Trelawny Cooperative Credit Union. Dr. HoSang is a former member of the Jamaican Senate.
